How is water footprint calculated?

The plugin compares your network’s total water consumption in two periods:

  • A baseline period you select (1 day, 1 week, or 2 weeks from a specific date)
  • An analysis period that starts right after the baseline and continues until today (or the date you’ve set on the timeline)

The results show:

  • The total accumulated volume consumed (in m³, ML, or ft³)
  • The percentage increase or reduction compared to the baseline
  • The evolution of consumption day by day, or aggregated weekly if you select that option in the graph

The comparison is done daily to ensure consistency—for example, Mondays are always compared with Mondays.

By default, the initial baseline is set to start 9 weeks before the current date with a duration of 1 week, but you can adjust it as needed.
