Network versions & saved scenarios
The Network versions panel lets you compare different versions of your network and understand the impact of your tests and operational decisions.
From this panel, you can switch between:
- Network: the original network, with no changes applied
- Scenario: the version where you test changes and run analyses
- Saved scenario: a saved version of your scenario that you can revisit later
Network version
The Network version is the base representation of the network you uploaded to Qatium. It includes all your data and reflects the current state of your assets.
This is the default view and is useful for:
- Getting a general overview of the network
- Checking asset status without any test changes applied
- Comparing results against other versions
As soon as you start testing changes, Qatium automatically switches from Network to Scenario.
Scenario version
The Scenario version is where you test operations and explore different options without affecting the base network. In this version, every change you make during the same day is listed in the Network versions panel.
Each change in the list shows:
- The affected asset ID
- The asset type (shown with its icon)
- The property that changed (status, demand, etc.)
- The new value
- The time when the change was made
You can select any change in the list to jump to the exact time in the timeline when the change happened, and fly to the affected asset on the map to locate it faster.

Changes are also marked in the timeline with blue dots, so you can easily see when they occurred.

Saved scenario version
You can save the work you do in the Scenario version to keep a permanent record of your changes. This creates a Saved scenario.
Saving a scenario is useful when you want to:
- Go back through your testing steps later
- Compare different approaches
- Measure the impact of changes against the base network
How to save a scenario
- Perform any action in your network to enter the Scenario version
- Apply all the changes you want to test
- Use Undo changes
if you need to remove your steps
- Select Save scenario
to create your saved version

Once saved, you can:
- Continue testing new changes on top of the saved scenario
- Undo changes if needed
- Save again to add more steps to the same saved scenario
You can also switch back to the Scenario version to test alternative options and compare them with both the Saved scenario and the Network version.
If you want to start over, select the delete icon next to Saved scenario to remove it and continue exploring new possibilities.
Heads up:
- For now, you can only save one scenario. If you try to save a new scenario, it will overwrite the existing one and permanently remove its changes.
- Saved scenarios are stored locally. This means they’re only available on the device and browser where you created them. If you open the same network on another device, the saved scenario won’t be available.
Quick tip:
You can open Qatium in two separate browser windows to compare, side by side, the impact of your changes in the Network version, and the Scenario or Saved scenario. This makes it easier to spot differences and understand the effects of your decisions.
