Inside Qatium you have several panels, plugins and controls to test scenarios and assess the impact on your network. You can use them separately or combined to try different situations and operations, and to visualize results.
In the following image you’ll see the main scenario panels and plugins in Magnetic Island, our demo network. Depending on your subscription and your purchases in the Qatium Marketplace, the list may grow.
Work modes
The Work modes panel allows you to focus on concrete tasks, switching from different presets designed especially to help you perform operations in your network easily.
Learn more about each work mode in this article.
Network versions
The Network versions panel allows you to evaluate the impact of the changes you make while testing scenarios. Switch between:
- My network (with the original settings)
- My scenario (where you run your tests)
Learn more about network versions in this article.
Demand spike
The Demand spike plugin allows you to test different demands and residual pressures for the junctions and hydrants in your network.
The Demand tab includes:
- Junction or hydrant ID
- Pin button to fly to the selected asset on the map
- A slider to change demands
- A text box to type the demand value
- Reset button to restore the demand
- A number with the resulting pressure colored in green, orange or red, depending on the value.
The Pressure tab includes the same, but for pressures:
- A slider to change residual pressures
- A text box to type the pressure value
- Reset button to restore the pressure
- A number with the resulting demand colored in green, orange or red, depending on the value.
You can use the Demand spike plugin along the Flushing plugin to design a flushing sequence.

Shutdown
Available on |
Use the Shutdown plugin to simulate pipe isolation in a network, determine the valves involved, and visualize the impact on your customers.
The Shutdown panel includes:
- A toggle button to highlight the selected pipe on the map
- The pipe ID along with a pin to locate it on the map
- A toggle button to supply or unsupply the selected pipe
- The list of isolation valves available

- A report with the affected customer points ready to download
If the Shutdown plugin is not available on your subscription, you can buy it from the Marketplace or upgrade your plan.
Flushing
Available on |
The Flushing plugin is only available when there’s a scenario active. It helps you to check if there are optimal or non-optimal velocities for flushing and the level of discoloration risk, depending on the situation you are testing.
The Flushing panel includes:
- A toggle button to activate or deactivate flushing analysis
- Analysis status
- Velocities for flushing (optimal/non-optimal)
- Discoloration risk level
The Flushing plugin was designed to work along the Demand spike plugin, assisting you in designing a flushing sequence.
